The National Rural Health Students' Network (NRHSN) represents 25 Rural Health Clubs (RHC) with over 6500 members located at universities throughout Australia. The NRHSN is a multidisciplinary Network.

NOMAD

 

 

NOMAD, Deakin University’s Rural Health Club joined the NRHSN in 2008 becoming it’s 25th club. The acronym NOMAD stands for Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Medicine and Allied Health @ Deakin and represents the clubs desire for a true cross section of disciplines in its members.

The main aims of the club include:

  • Increasing awareness of the careers available in regional, rural and remote areas including the pathways, rewards, possible challenges and issues unique to these working environments;

  • Increasing awareness of the main issues in rural health;

  • Encouraging multidisciplinary learning and teamwork in healthcare.
