ARMS
The ANU (Australian National University) Rural Medical Society (ARMS) - yes, that's an acronym within an acronym! - was established in 2004 by the 1st cohort of graduate-entry medical students. ARMS currently has around 150 medical student members across all four year levels within the school.
ARMS strongly encourages members to become involved in rural communities and the majority of ARMS events are held in rural areas surrounding Canberra as well as throughout south eastern New South Wales.
Health promotion activities such as the "Healthy for Life" programme and community health screening at rural shows figure prominently on our calender and no fewer than 10 different show visits each year.

Other ARMS activities include:
- Visits to high schools in Boorowa, Young, Yass, Cooma, Bombala, Goulburn and Bega .
- An annual bushdance held at the Yarralumla Woolshed.
- Social BBQs
- ARMS annual ski-trip
- Speaker nights
- Rural photo exhibitions
