ROUSTAH
ROUSTAH is the University of South Australia's Rural Health Club, comprising of students with a Rural Outlook Towards Allied Health!
Our members are from many of the divisions of the School of Health Sciences, including pharmacy, podiatry, nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, medical radiation, molecular and biomedical science, nuclear medicine, social work and occupational therapy. All of our members have an interest in country life, in particular the prospect of working as a Nurse or Allied Health practitioner in rural and remote areas.
Many prospective members assume that they must be from a rural or remote area to participate in ROUSTAH, but we welcome ANYONE with an INTEREST in RURAL HEALTH, irrespective of their background. We encourage everyone to immerse themselves in rural experiences including Rural High School Visits in country SA, Vibe Alive , professional development activities such as rural health conferences and rural work experience.
We believe UniSA's Nursing and Allied Health students have a lot to gain, and more importantly, a lot to give, by becoming involved in Australia's rural health community.
For further information and to sign up visit the ROUSTAH website or email their NRHSN Senior Rep Ruth Vogelsang.
