Welcome to WAALHIIBE
WAALHIIBE (Western Australian Allied Health Interested in Bush Experience) is Western Australia’s Rural Health Club for allied health students from Curtin University, the University of Western Australia, the University of Notre Dame, Edith Cowan University, and Murdoch University.
Established in 2000 in response to the need for more health professionals in rural Western Australia, WAALHIIBE provides members with opportunities to explore rural health through clinical education sessions, rural high school visits, placement opportunities, and information on rural clinical practice.
Our activities are fun, educational, and often hands‑on. They may include:
- Trips to rural and remote areas
- Rural High School Visits
- Cultural awareness training
- Indigenous health nights and community festivals
- Guest speaker events and skills evenings
- Social events and more
Membership
WAALHIIBE is administered by Rural Health West. Membership is free and open to all allied health students interested in rural health or curious about the opportunities available for health professionals in the country.
Members are supported through mentoring, education, and professional and personal development. WAALHIIBE now has over 1,000 members from both urban and rural backgrounds — united by their interest in experiencing rural allied health.
Committee Opportunities
Want to get more involved with WAALHIIBE? Each year, when committee roles become vacant, we put out a notice inviting allied health students from WA universities to apply.

- President
