Event Review – Desert Smart Eco Fair

In early August three SPINRPHEX committee members travelled to Alice Springs. In Alice the committee joined forces with four members of Rural Health Union of University of Western Sydney (RHUUWS) club. Together they ran workshops with local students educating them about human anatomy, first aid skills, healthy eating, and health careers and pathways. As part of their trip they also ran a health stall at the Eco Fair where students had an opportunity to interact with the wider community.

This trip provided our committee members with a unique opportunity to experience firsthand what it is like to be involved with rural and remote communities and the challenges involved with providing health services to these communities.
