Congratulations Lauren

My name is Lauren and I am a 29-year-old Bardi Jawi woman from Broome. I am the Vice President and Secretary of KRASH. I completed the Diploma of Nursing through Notre Dame Australia graduating at the end of 2018. Over the past 10 years I have spent many of them caring for my grandmother whom passed away in 2017. She has been my inspiration throughout my whole life and while caring for her I developed a passion for caring for and helping people.

Once I began studying in 2017, I realised the lack of Indigenous nurses, doctors and health professionals in the Kimberley. I joined KRASH in the hopes of spreading awareness about health and the need for Indigenous health professionals in the Kimberley. I hope to inspire more Indigenous and non-Indigenous people towards a pathway in the health industry and raise awareness about the importance of health.

– Well done Lauren!
