The National Rural Health Student Network (NRHSN) represents the future of rural health in Australia. It has more than 9,000 members who belong to 29 university Rural Health Clubs from all states and territories. It is Australia’s only multi-disciplinary student health network, bringing together people studying medicine, nursing and allied health

ARMS

The ANU Rural Medical Society (ARMS) began in 2004 and consists of members across all four years of the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MChD) degree at ANU as well as members in undergraduate health degrees. ARMS is committed to promoting a career in rural Australia and bringing awareness of the unique health care needs of those living in regional and rural areas across Australia.

AURHA

The Adelaide University Rural Health Alliance (AURHA) is the rural health club for The University of Adelaide. We are one of the 29 rural health clubs across Australia that make up the National Rural Health Students’ Network (NRHSN). Locally, we work alongside our Flinders and Uni SA counterparts FURHS and ROUSTAH.

BREAATHHE

BREAATHHE is proud to be one of 29 Rural Health Clubs (RHC) nationally as part of the National Rural Health Students Network (NRHSN). Like all RHCs, BREAATHHE aims to promote rural and remote practice to our members through information exchange, placement opportunities, support and advocacy. With 1700+ members, we’re proud to be one of the largest Rural Health Clubs in the country!

BUSHFIRE

Bond University Society of Health for Indigenous and Rural Experience (BUSHFIRE) aims to create an interest in rural and Indigenous health within and outside of Bond University Health Sciences and Medicine community by providing opportunities to experience rural work and living.

CARHSS

Central Australian Remote Health Student Society (CARHSS) is a multidisciplinary free student group based in the Centre for Remote Health, including students from Charles Darwin University and the Flinders NT Medical Program Campus in Mparntwe, Alice Springs. CARHSS members include university students from Nursing, Aboriginal Health, Pharmacy, Medicine, Psychology, Sports and Exercise Science, Social Work and Public Health and Community, and other health disciplines.

CRANC

The Canberra Rural Allied Health and Nursing Collective (CRANC) is based at the University of Canberra in the ACT and was founded in 2008. We are a group of nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, midwives and occupational therapists that are interested in rural and remote health care.

CROHC

CROHC is one of Western Australia’s rural health clubs. Founded in 2019, we aim to close the gap between rural & Indigenous health and that of the urban by inspiring more health professionals to choose rural. We provide information about upcoming opportunities as well as an avenue to meet amazing, like-minded individuals.

FURHS

FURHS is a unique society that offers you an opportunity to network and socialise cross faculty and across university. We host a range of social and formal events aimed to give you a taste of all the fantastic opportunities and lifestyle rural Australia has to offer and we give you the opportunity to meet some amazing people.

HOPE4HEALTH

H4H aims to improve health outcomes for rural, indigenous, local and international communities. We achieve our goals by organising activities for our members including rural clinical skills trips, rural high school visits, teddy bear hospitals, guest speaker seminars, and much more.

KRASH

Kimberley Regional Alliance for Students in Health (KRASH) 2020 is a multidisciplinary student group based at the University of Notre Dame, Broome. KRASH has been working towards a healthier tomorrow since 2008. KRASH is operated by students who are passionate about rural and remote.

LARHC

The La Trobe Rural Health Club was founded in 1997. We are based at La Trobe in Bendigo, but encompasses all La Trobe University Campuses. We are very proud to be the only rural health club in regional Victoria. The La Trobe Rural Health Club was founded in 1997. MIRAGE

MIRAGE is the University of Sydney’s Rural Health Club, and proud to be one of 29 Rural Health Clubs (RHC) nationwide! Like all RHCs, MIRAGE is dedicated to promoting rural and remote practice to our members through a variety of resources and activities. With over 1000 members, we are proud to be one of the largest clubs in the country, bringing together students from a range of disciplines.

NERCHA

NERCHA is the University of New England branch of the National Rural Health Students’ Network (NRHSN). We aim to not only support students with a rural background but also foster interest in rural health equity in students from non-rural backgrounds.

NOMAD

NOMAD is Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Medicine, Allied Health at Deakin NOMAD is Deakin University’s multidisciplinary rural health club whose goals are to promote rural health careers to students of all ages, promote health in rural areas and increase awareness of the issues pertaining to rural and indigenous health care. The club runs across Deakin’s four campuses and plays a vital role at Deakin University and in rural health. We are one of 29 rural health clubs across Australia.

OUTLOOK

Outlook Rural Health Club is a multidisciplinary student organisation of the University of Melbourne. We’re committed to raising awareness of the health needs of rural and remote Australia with a particular focus on Indigenous health. Our members are passionate about improving health outcomes in rural areas, and Outlook actively fosters and encourages leadership and teamwork so that the future rural health workforce can achieve these goals.

RAHMS

RAHMS (Rural Allied Health and Medical Society) is the University of New South Wales’ student-run organisation for exercise physiology, medical, medical science, optometry, social work, psychology, public health and biomedical engineering students. We are made up of students from both city and country, as well as anyone interested in rural health.

RHINO

We are the the student rural health club for James Cook University and Central Queensland University. It is our aim to promote rural issues and opportunities within the disciplines of medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy, pharmacy, biomedicine and paramedic science in North Queensland.

RHPOSITIVE

Rural Health Positive (RH+) is a cross-campus rural health club for health students studying at Charles Sturt University. We are unique in the huge area we cover, connecting students not only from our campuses in Bathurst, Orange, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Dubbo and Port Macquarie, but also online. We’re not only geographically diverse, but also feature students from just about any health discipline you can think of!

RHUWS

RHUWS is the multidisciplinary student group at the University of Western Sydney that connects you with rural health. Our aim is to give you a feel for what working in rural and remote communities is all about. At the same time, we aim to engage people living in rural and remote areas and educate them about how to get involved in a health career.

ROUNDS

ROUNDS is an enthusiastic Rural Health Club with ambitions to educate, inform and inspire its members on rural, remote and Indigenous health issues. Formed in 2008, the club is a student-run organisation for medical and nursing students at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney who are interested in rural health issues.

ROUSTAH

Rural Outlook for University Students Towards All Health (ROUSTAH) is the UniSA rural health club. There are 29 Rural Health Clubs (RHCs) nationally, with at least one RHC in every state and territory. The RHCs promote rural and remote practice to their members through information exchange, placement opportunities, support and advocacy.

RUSTICA

Rustica is the NRHSN rural health club for the University of Tasmania. We have branches in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie and promote rural health to Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health Students.
We offer networking opportunities, scholarships, clinical skills days and much more.

SHARP

The Student Health Alliance for Rural Populations (SHARP) is the University of Wollongong’s Rural Health Club. We are a student-run club united by one common interest – rural, remote and Indigenous health. SHARP aims to promote regional and remote practice to our members through rural experience weekends, rural health conferences, regional high school workshops, cultural awareness training, numerous volunteering opportunities and social events that link you with like-minded students across the university.

SPINRPHEX

Established in April 1990, SPINRPHEX (Students and Practitioners Interested iN Rural Practice Health Education) is the oldest student Rural Health Club in Australia. It is a dynamic club for Nursing, Dentistry, Oral health therapy and Medical students of all ages who are interested in rural health. Its founding was based on a passion to better the health standards and quality of health care in rural Australia at a time when it was becoming obvious that there was to be a shortage of health professionals in rural areas.

STARRH

Students Association for Rural and Remote Health (StARRH) is a multidisciplinary student group at Charles Darwin University and the Flinders NT Medical Program Campus in Darwin. StARRH members include students from Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Psychology, Sports and Exercise Science, Social Work and Public Health and Community.

TROHPIQ

TROHPIQ encompasses a wide range of students and health professionals from a variety of disciplines, including medicine, nursing and allied health. Our members are made up of students from UQ, QUT, ACU, USC, CQU and USQ. Founded in 1994, TROHPIQ continues to promote rural clinical education, rural and remote practice and rural and Indigenous health issue awareness. TROHPIQ provides numerous opportunities for networking and professional development for health students throughout the state.

WAALHIIBE

WAALHIIBE (Western Australian Allied Health Interested in Bush Experience) is Western Australia’s Rural Health Club for Allied Health students from Curtin University, University of Western Australia, the University of Notre Dame, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University. Established in 2000 in response to the growing concern over the lack of health professionals in rural Western Australia, WAALHIIBE continues to provide clinical education sessions and conferences, rural high school visits, placement opportunities and rural clinical practice information to its members.

WILDFIRE

Wildfire; Monash University’s Indigenous and Rural Health Club was established in 1993 by Monash University School of Rural Health (SRH). We run a variety of rural based events for university students and support and encourage medical students who are placed in rural area. The club was established in 1993 by Monash University School of Rural Health (SRH). Initially our membership was limited to pre-clinical medical students of Monash University. However we soon recognized that improving rural health is the responsibility of all healthcare providers – thus we have grown to encompass nursing students and allied health students, as well as both pre-clinical and clinical medical students.
